June 14, we celebrate the “Flag Day”, whose act was approved for official use during the Second Continental Congress in 1777.
Later, in 1916, US President Woodrow Wilson issued a statement reaffirming this celebration; but it was not until August 1949 that, under President Harry S. Truman, the US Congress signed into law, although not national holiday. Only in the state of Pennsylvania is celebrated as a holiday.
However, it is in effect the “Flag Week – from this date – in whose days to all citizens and residents of this nation are encouraged to hoist the flag that symbolizes national tradition.
